Pigeons & Doves

The pigeon & dove family has adapted to most of the habitats available on the planet, except for the driest desert areas and the cold Arctic & Antarctic. The largest number of pigeons & doves are found in tropical forests and woodlands. Various species also inhabit savannas, grasslands, barren sand and gravels of atolls and cities around the world. Pigeons and doves exhibit considerable variations in size. The largest species with the weight of 2-4kg and the smallest with the weigh as little as 22 grams.
