Victoria is the second most populous and smallest mainland state
Australia (0.24 million km2 - 5.5 million inhabitants).
Victoria is bordered by New South Wales to the north, South Australia
to the west, and Tasmania to the south, across Bass Strait. The
state's capital city is Melbourne. The photographs in this section
were taken in Melbourne and its suburbs, from famous Puffing Billy
Railway, in Yarra Valley and in Dandenong Ranges just one week before
the devastating "Black Saturday" fire (7 Febr-2009).
