Nicaragua is the largest country in Central America (130,3000 km² - 6 million inhabitants). The country is bordered by Honduras to the north and Costa Rica to the south. The Pacific Ocean lies to the west of the country, the Caribbean to the east. Nearly one fifth of the territory is designated as protected areas like national parks, nature reserves, and biological reserves. The Capital City of Nicaragua is Managua.
