Summary

Professional way of power plant project risk assessment has proved to be the most important factor in the senior-level decision making process. this has become a highly frequented criterion especially in the south-east Asian energy market arena which is shaped by new players called Independent Power Producers.

Consulting and engineering company IMTE AG Switzerland, has executed a risk assessment study in favor of its Malaysian customers. Experiences with the Independent Power establishment in south-east Asia are compared with worldwide situation. 

Specifics of contract negotiations, development and construction of the international mega-projects, have been exemplified by the biggest Malaysian 1300 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant.
